LA is a wonderful place. Excitement, exploration, and enjoyment await in this bustling city. In such an amazing city, I discovered my passion and dream for my future.

When I landed in LA, I was immediately filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation.  From the towering palm trees that line the streets, to the bustling traffic that surges through the city, I became immersed in an experience like no other.  LA is full of surprises and though I have only spent three days in this city, I feel a deep inner longing to return to jumpstart my career in media.

LA is known for its vast professional production field and boasts giants such as Universal Studios, Warner brothers, 20th Century Fox and many others.  Though each company encompasses multiple areas of media, my interest was sparked in the area of commercial production. However, that hidden passion would not have been discovered if it not for an inspirational media professional.

Mr. Brian Branstetter is a commercial production designer in the LA area who avidly produces high quality commercials for various mega-companies all around the world.  Having connections through a close friend, I flew to LA to shadow him for a few days.  During my brief stay, he opened my eyes to the marvelous world of commercial production.

In case you are wondering what exactly a production designer does, they produce every part of the aesthetics of a commercial.  Mr. Branstetter’s job specifically focuses on designing commercials from start to finish and he executes it in such a way that makes everyone aspire to follow in his footsteps.

Not only did he give me a private backstage tour of Universal Studios (pictured above) but he also chauffeured me all around the city.  The Venice boardwalk, Malibu, The Grove, and Melrose Avenue fed my hunger for LA.

I could go on and on for hours about LA, but this love would not be nearly as passionate if it were not for Mr. Branstetter.  He took so much time away from his personal agenda to educate and entertain me with the excitement of his job and city.

I arrived in LA with high expectations and when I left just three days later, my expectations had been blown away beyond my wildest dreams.  Thanks to Mr. Branstetter, my passion for my future has formed and I cannot wait to see where it takes me – LA or beyond!
